From a personal need to a tool for many
My name is Adriano, I'm a web developer and I live in Italy, near Rome. Over the years I've built software of all kinds to solve real problems, but none of those projects has ever been as personal as Aistamine: it wasn't born from a business idea, but from something I lived with every day at home.
When someone you love lives with an intolerance, the problem becomes yours too.
My wife has lived with histamine intolerance for more than ten years. For a long time it was hard to work out which foods triggered her reactions, and when: the symptoms seemed to come with no logic to them. We realised the only way to make sense of it was to gather the data consistently, day after day, and learn to read it.
At first it was little more than a digital notebook: logging meals, noting symptoms, looking for a thread between the two. Nothing sophisticated. But as the weeks went by, reviewing that data together with her doctor, correlations began to emerge that we could never have spotted with the naked eye.
Watching those connections take shape was surprising, and above all useful in everyday life. That's when I realised a tool like this couldn't stay locked in a drawer: if it had helped us, it could help other people facing the same struggle. That's how Aistamine became what it is today.
